The transcripts were written by the Reverend Donald Mackintosh, who was ‘Keeper of the Records and Translator of the Gaelic Language’ to the Highland Society of Scotland from January 1801 until his death in 1808. These are transcripts from 2 of the 5 manuscripts which Mackintosh obtained on loan from Ewen MacLachlan of Kilbride in July 1801.
