The recipents of the letters include: William Mure, James Oswald, Michael Ramsay, William Rouat, Adam Smith, John Stewart, and unidentified. The final letter is a corrected draft; several of those to Mure, all to Oswald, and one to Ramsay are copies.

Letters of H H Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith, to the Earl of Rosebery, with copies of some of the Rosebery's replies., 1891-1926, undated.
Most of the letters were written between 1894 and 1909 during the periods when H H Asquith was Home Secretary in the Earl of Rosebery's administration and a Vice President of the Liberal League under Rosebery's presidency. Both personal and political matters are discussed.
