Some scripts bear prefatory notes by Campbell, and English summaries or notes relating to some were published in ‘Popular Tales of the West Highlands’, volume 1.
Music book of George Mills, a member of the choir at Over Wallop, Hampshire, containing the music (in single treble notation) and words of a number of Christmas carols.
The music book consists of a number of gatherings of leaves stitched together inside three layers of paper covers. The carols appear to have been copied in a number of children's hands, at different times, the watermarks in the sheets being dated between 1836 and 1846, with some at the end dated 1869. Francis Collinson's note in pencil is at folio 1.
‘My diary. United States 1898-1899’ by Ian Malcolm, several typescripts bound into one volume., 1898-1899.
The typescripts are as follows:
(i) Carbon copy of ‘Tales of a traveller’, with annotations apparently in the hand of Ian Malcolm.
(ii) Top copy of ‘An election in New York’. A revised version appears in ‘Trodden ways 1895-1930’ by Malcolm (1930), pages 209-215.
(iii) Top copy of ‘Washington’.
(iv) Top copy of ‘Niagara in winter’.
Narrative of a Swedish Officer serving as a volunteer in the Seven Years' War, in the army of Frederick the Great and attached to Marshal Keith.
National Covenant. A very large copy written by William Aytoun, and illuminated with letters in gold., 1639.
The arrangement of the signatures, with the noblemen at the top and the barons and burgesses down each side, implies that it was signed in parliament; the names themselves suggest the Parliament of 1639 rather than that of 1640.
'Natural History of the Parish of Salton.', 1756.
On the cover is 'written Anno 1756' and at the end "This Natural History was written on Occasion of some Queries published in the Gentleman's Magazine for April 1756".
Near contemporary copies of private letters from Alexander Walker to Jonathan Duncan, Colonel Barry Close, J A Grant, Colonel Arthur Wellesley and others., 1799-1801.
The letters are chiefly written from Calicut and deal with local disturbances, the aftermath of Seringapatam, the shift of responsibility for the Malabar district from Bombay to Madras, etc.

The music is chiefly arranged for pianoforte, except MS.3378, which is for violin.
Nineteenth-century copies of treaties made by Persia., 18th century-19th century, undated.
The treaties are with the following countries: France (folios 1 verso-5 verso), Great Britain (folios 6 verso-22, 33-36), Russia (folios 22 verso-30, 36 verso-40 verso), the Ottoman Empire (folios 41-62), and Belgium (folios 30 verso-32).
