Manuscript, undated, originally intended and probably begun as a casualties register (and so marked on the front cover) but later begun as a letter book (at the back, inverted) and subsequently used to contain a draft, with a number of amendments, of the standing orders of one of the Highland Regiments, possibly the 42nd Foot (the Black Watch)., Early 19th century.
The manuscript is undated, but the hand appears to date from the early 19th century. The leaves are watermarked 1794.
