Manuscript, undated, originally intended and probably begun as a casualties register (and so marked on the front cover) but later begun as a letter book (at the back, inverted) and subsequently used to contain a draft, with a number of amendments, of the standing orders of one of the Highland Regiments, possibly the 42nd Foot (the Black Watch)., Early 19th century.

Physical Description

The volume has suffered some damage. The leaves used as a letter book have been torn out at the back and at least an entire gathering has been torn out before folio 1.
