Scope and Contents
Collection contains one folder of photographs, correspondence, notes, poems, songs, political ephemera, and speeches of both Jimmy and Margaret Hunter. Topics represented in written material include the Suffrage Movement, the poetry of Robert Burns (possibly for a Burns Supper event), and election campaigns. Notable correspondents include Christopher Grieve (also known as poet Hugh MacDiarmid). Jimmy Hunter's funeral tributes to Helen Crawfurd-Anderson and Cathie Girvan are also present, as is a typescript transcript of a late interview by Jimmy, in which he speaks of Margaret. Posthumous tributes to the couple are also present from friends, alongside manuscript notes by WGML librarian Audrey Canning concerning the contents of their collection.
