The eight queries do not include the question mentioned in an extract of the proceedings of the Synod of Fife, 4 April 1722 (Wodrow MS. Folio xlix, folio 199), as to whether Hog was the author of certain pamphlets said to contain doctrinal errors.

Includes the printed ‘Narrative’ of the battle of Cape St Vincent, which Colonel Drinkwater published anonymously in 1797, followed by the manuscript on which he based the matter, on pages 77-97, in the second edition, 1840.
Record, written in a printed bible, by James Hamilton, Lord Pencaitland, of the births, marriages, and deaths of his children from 1659 to 1723; written in 'The Holy Bible containing the Old Testament and the New' ([Amsterdam?], 1708).
With additions in another hand bringing some entries down to 1755; followed by an account, dated 1770, of various children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The record is written on the back of the title-page of the New Testament, 1707, and on the following page. There is a transcript on blank pages inserted after the map which follows the title page.

Peter Gillman and Dougal Haston wrote a book about the ascent of the north face of the Eiger, with the photographs of Chris Bonington. This was entitled 'Eiger Direct' and was publsihed by Collins in 1966. The records in this series all relate to that publication.

Register of official letters and writs of Charles I, sent by William Alexander, later Earl of Stirling, in his capacity of Secretary of State for Scotland.
The letters are not in strict chronological order. Folios 3-97 contain letters of 1626-1627; folios 97-143, letters of 1630-1635; and folios 144-372 also letters of 1630-1635. They are preceded by forms of address of various officials (folio 1).

The volume contains records of the bishopric from 15 January 1663 to 14 August 1688.
Paginated [1]-235 by a contemporary hand, with page 225 repeated in pagination. Written by several different hands, with a noticeable change of hands on page 174. According to a note by the donor on folio iii verso, the main scribe of the volume was John Graham, commissary clerk and clerk of the Chapter of Dunblane.
