Scope and Contents Much of Ruthven Todd's prose writing, especially in his later life, was repetitious: he not only made numerous drafts and re-writings, but he used the same material in both books and articles. In particular, he made use of his own reminiscences in his work on Dylan Thomas and Fitzrovia as well as in the more autobiographical 'Dead and other friends and places'. The eight queries do not include the question mentioned in an extract of the proceedings of the Synod of Fife, 4 April 1722 (Wodrow MS. Folio xlix, folio 199), as to whether Hog was the author of certain pamphlets said to contain doctrinal errors.

Peter Gillman and Dougal Haston wrote a book about the ascent of the north face of the Eiger, with the photographs of Chris Bonington. This was entitled 'Eiger Direct' and was publsihed by Collins in 1966. The records in this series all relate to that publication.

The volume contains records of the bishopric from 15 January 1663 to 14 August 1688.

Paginated [1]-235 by a contemporary hand, with page 225 repeated in pagination. Written by several different hands, with a noticeable change of hands on page 174. According to a note by the donor on folio iii verso, the main scribe of the volume was John Graham, commissary clerk and clerk of the Chapter of Dunblane.
