The correspondence concerns various subjects, including a proposed naval supply base on the Falkland Islands, improvements in naval uniform, alterations in the crewing of gun vessels, the inspection of first reserve and drill ships, a disturbance in the naval barracks at Sheerness, naval discipline, the provision of Presbyterian services in the Dockyard Chapel at Sheerness, and the defective state of H.M.S. Pembroke, Sir Charles Elliot's flagship.
