Two incomplete manuscript copies, both in the same hand, of the ‘Institutes’ of Justinian.

Two manuscripts bound together, containing the burgh laws, ‘Regiam Maiestatem’, ‘Quoniam Attachiamenta’, statutes, and other smaller legal texts, some in Scots.
Two notebooks, one containing poetry and the other a few legal and financial jottings of Lord Milton., 18th century.
In both volumes each page has been ruled in three columns, each column headed by three letters in an alphabetical sequence. The purpose for which this was intended has not been carried out and the volumes have been adapted for other uses.
Two short, nearly contiguous vertical strips of vellum from what appears to be a French legal document., 16th century.
The fragments had been used as binding strips in a copy (pressmark K.50.f) of ‘M. Acci Plauti comoediae viginti’ (Lugduni Batavorum, 1593).
Two vellum fragments stuck together, which appear to be from two unrelated English legal documents., ?16th century.
The larger of the fragments is apparently signed J Osborne at Westminster, 12 February 1563, and refers to one John Jeffery.
The fragments had been used as a binding strip in a copy (pressmark FF.1/2.14) of ‘Petri Canisii Societatis Jesu opus catechisticum’, (Lutetiæ Parisiorum, 1618), by Saint Peter [Canisius].

Valuations, lists, and legal papers, loosely bound together, concerning the parish of St Ninians., 1723-1803.
The legal papers chiefly concern the struggle between the Kirk Session and the heritors over the right of patronage.
Valuations of parishes in Perthshire.
The parishes are listed under presbyteries. On folio 25 is a list of 'weeklie stent of excise on ilk paroch in perthshyre', followed by a summary of the valuations. The first page is missing. A later note in shorthand on the inside of the front cover is dated 7 April 1696.

Vellum fragment apparently from a folio-sized legal work with extensive glosses., ?14th century.
The text of the work, which is not recorded in ‘Patrologia Latina’, is written in two columns.
The fragment was recovered from the binding of a copy (pressmark K.34.e) of ‘ἐκλογων ἀποφθεγματων ὑποθηκων, περι φρονησεων λογος πρωτος’ (Venetiis, 1534), by Iohannes Stobaeus, where it was used as a binding strip inside the back cover.

A few brief notes and some unimportant marks have been written in the margins in different hands. A contents list has been written on the flyleaf in an apparently contemporary hand.
