'4th Earl of Minto's Minto Manuscript Catalogue' of the family papers, being a typed transcription, made by Colonel the Honourable W F Elliot in 1916, of the catalogue compiled by the 4th Earl of Minto., 1891-1895.
The material the transcription includes is broadly that now in the National Library, but excluding the charters and the Fife and Angus estate papers.

The volumes here contain transcriptions of much of the correspondenceof the Guild family contained in the previous numbers of this accession. It has also been illustrated with images largely in the possession of various members of the family.
The volumes were compiled by Robert Hamish Wyllie Galbraith, who has also included an introduction with family history and information about the history of the archive.

The collection is known both as the `Denmilne State Papers` and the `Denmilne Collection`. Less formally it is often referred to as the `Denmilne Manuscripts`.
