The journal has evidently been printed from the copy in MS.1569, corrected in manuscript from Sir Walter Scott's original, and used by John Gibson Lockhart in writing the ‘Memoirs of the life of Sir Walter Scott, Baronet’ (Edinburgh, 1837). A note on page 60 (folio 1) states that all preceding pages have been sent to Mr Morritt.
