The reports, originally part of a larger series, were probably written circa 1755. They record accounts of: agriculture, forestry, fisheries and other natural resources on the estates; the churches and ministers; the state of education, with emphasis on the progress of the English language; observation of the Disarming Act, and the prohibition of Highland dress; communications, and suggestions for improvements.
