‘State papers collected by Walsingham, Burleigh &ce’, copies of English state papers, from the reign of Elizabeth I, concerning relations with France, Spain, the Netherlands and Scotland.
Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows:
(i) Papers concerning the matters passed between England, France & Spain, and the Netherlands, of which a table is given at folio 91 verso.
(ii) Papers concerning matters that have passed between England and Scotland during the reign of Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth, of which a table is placed at the end of the volume.
The tops of the leaves are considerably damaged by damp and two leaves are wanting before folio 5.
The description of the manuscript in the folio catalogue (F.R.186) includes the reference:

Custodial History
The volume has on its board a catalogue mark ‘568 Walsinghams papers’ and an inscription “B.T. Astlei Arm:” and a note of its being purchased at P Field’s sale 27 April 1783.
