Historical papers formerly belonging to the antiquary Robert Mylne.
Scope and Contents
The papers mostly concern events in Scotland from 1637 to 1652, and include copies of acts, proclamations, petitions, etc. The subjects include the service book, the National Covenant, teinds, and the College of Justice. There is also a copy of ‘Irene’ by William Drummond of Hawthornden (folio 213). A list has been inserted of those items which have been published.
There are a few notes by Mylne, identifying some of the papers. His instructions for binding the collection and his inscription `Gifted me by Spotswood’ appear on folio 2.
