Scope and Contents
Letters to John Murray III and John Murray IV concerning the publication of 'The Letters and Journals of Lord Byron' of:
Lady Anne Blunt, 15th Baroness Wentworth, 1886: folios 1-10.
Included is a note on f.8v of John Murray III relating that in June 1886 he presented Lady Anne Blunt with 50 letters of Lord Byron to Augusta Leigh;
Ralph Gordon Noel King Milbanke, 2nd Earl of Lovelace, 1869-1887 and 1895-1904: folios 11-122. The letters are signed using the titles of Milbanke – firstly ‘Wentworth’ and later ‘Lovelace’. The letters signed ‘Lovelace’ differ in hand markedly from those under ‘Wentworth’ and are possibly by an amanuensis.
