Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows. (i) Copies of correspondence relating to the British occupation of Amboina (folio 1); (ii) Copies of correspondence concerning the loss of the brig ‘Emily’ at Bali in 1807 (folio 72); (iii) Copies of dispatches and enclosures from Major-General Henry Warde, commander of the troops on Mauritius and Bourbon, and Robert Townsend Farquhar, Governor of Mauritius (folio 86); (iv) Copies of papers concerning the cargoes of the East India ships ‘Ceylon’ and ‘Wyndham’, bound for London from Port Louis, Mauritius (folio 111); (v) Papers, mostly copies, concerning supplies for the troops on Java (folio 135); (vi) Letter of Neil Benjamin Edmondstone to Thomas Stamford Raffles with an enclosed copy of the ‘Calcutta Gazette Extraordinary’, 12 August 1811 (folio 152); (vii) Copies of dispatches between the Bengal Government and the Secret Committee of the Court of Directors, with a copy of a dispatch from the Bengal Government to John Fullarton Elphinstone, President of the Select Committee of Supercargoes, Canton (folio 155).
