Letters of Washington Irving, mostly to John Murray II and to John Murray III., 1817-1856.
Scope and Contents
For nearly 40 years Irving wrote letters to his British publishers, John Murray [II] and John Murray [III]. Irving developed a good relationship with the house of Murray, even dubbing John Murray [II] the 'prince of booksellers'.
