Scope and Contents
In addition to correspondence relating to the sale by John Murray IV to Edward Stanford of many of the ‘Handbook’ titles, later letters relate to the intention by Stanford to sell his interest in the series.
The papers have been arranged chronologically.

Memorandum of agreement, 30 April 1901, between John Murray IV and Edward Stanford concerning the sale by Murray to Stanford of various titles from the ‘Murray’s Handbooks for Travellers’ series. The agreement includes a schedule of the Handbooks to be included in the sale: folios 5-11;
