Scope and Contents

Medical treatise in French covering illnesses of various parts of the body, incipit ‘Euporiston est celt liure apele ceo est a dire bien esproue` (folio 81). The first part of this text is published in ‘Documents manuscrits de l’ancienne littérature de la France conservés dans les bibliotèques de la Grande-Bretagne’, page 111. There are frequent marginal additions.

Folios 147 verso-148 blank.

Recipes in French in several hands (folio 149).

On the significance of thunder in the twelve signs of the zodiac, incipit `In quocunque signo tonuerit siue in die siue in nocte` (cf. ‘Catalogue of Incipits of Medieval Scientific Writings in Latin’, column 715, an excerpt from a Hermetic work) (folio 155 verso).

Initials are in red or blue, occasionally with tracery.

Ruling in ink (folios 147 verso-155 are not ruled). 1 column. 19-27 lines in folios 81-147, 20 in folios 155 verso-156. Text area 122 x 70 millimetres in folios 81-147, 148 x 94 millimetres in folios 155 verso-156.
