Elizabeth Haldane kept her papers carefully and they provide a very full record of her busy life. Her own work and her interest in the work of her brothers, Richard Burdon Haldane, John Scott Haldane, and William Stowell Haldane, brought her into contact with many of the great public figures of the day, and this is reflected in her correspondence. Her activities in connexion with nursing and social service are well documented, and so also are her literary and philosophical interests.
