Alexander Pirrie writes of daily incidents occurring on his two expeditions from Khartoum. The first was up the Nile to the southern regions of Sudan and Bahr-el-Ghazal in November 1906. The second was into the borders of Abyssinia in the early months of 1907. The route of the latter expedition is illustrated by a map (MS.9845) made by the Survey Office in Khartoum after Pirrie's return.
