Samuel Cameron was Minister of Logierait from 1842 until his death in 1872. These volumes are a useful source both for his lifestyle as a country minister in the mid-19th century and for the history of Logierait.
Notebook, apparently the last of a group, containing a fair copy of an account of the end of a tour in Switzerland, presumably from France, made apparently by Mary E Haldane in company with her sister Jane Burdon-Sanderson., [?1870.]
The contents are dated 1876 (folio iv) but this seems to be a mistake as Mrs Haldane was at home in August that year (cf. MS.20096). Possibly the correct date should be 1870.
About half of the volume is blank.

The notes chiefly summarize the military careers of most of William Marshall’s sons. The notes break off after 1831 but a few additional entries in pencil refer to events as far as 1856. Much of the volume is blank.
