Scope and Contents The contents are as follows:(i) Log for 30 August to 7 September 1628, when Sir John Pennington was assembling a fleet at Portsmouth for the Rochelle expedition (folio 2).(ii) Log for 3 September 1631 to 17 January 1632, when he was Captain of the 'Bonaventure', guarding the Narrow Seas (folio 4).The log is interspersed with copies of letters, the originals of many of which are preserved in the Public Record Office; see ‘Calendar of state papers, domestic,...

Log-book of a motorist (apparently a resident of Killearn), recording routes, mileages, and names of passengers, with frequent social or mechanical observations, contained in a specially ruled 'Motor Journal'.

Scope and Contents

The first motor car, the make of which is not recorded, covered over 15,000 miles between June 1904, and December 1906. A second vehicle, a 30/55 Daimler, was acquired in November 1907, and a 15 horse power Humber Landaulette was delivered early in 1909. At the close of the log, distances of over 11,000 miles are recorded for the Daimler, and over 3,000 miles for the Humber.

Scope and Contents The first account describes `A Cruize among the Hebrides or Western Isles of Scotland. June 1836` and the second is a `Log of the Barbara of Bedford during her voyage from Bedford to York. July 1835` (folio 43).At the end of each log, there are lists of illustrations which apparently were meant to accompany the text, but the only drawings in the logbook appear in the second account.
