Six letters of Myles Birket Foster, the painter, to James Tait Black, the publisher, inserted in a copy of "Black's picturesque guide to the Trosachs" by John H Burton (Edinburgh, 1853).
The letters concern the sketches and wood-engravings made by Foster for the illustrations to the 'Guide', and to other work that he was engaged on at the time. There is also an account for the work in connection with the 'Guide'.
