Scope Note: If a debtor wished to negate the effects of letters of horning and poinding, they could obtain letters of suspension. These halted the whole procedure until the matter could be considered by a court. Source: Formulary of old Scots legal documents. (Edinburgh: Stair Society, 1985.).
