Scope and Contents The manuscript was written in 1709 by Diarmuid Ó Conchubhair (Dermod Connor) for Muiris Ó Sobháin (Maurice Sovane or Savage) in the latter’s house at Ballineedora, parish Ballymacelligot, barony of Trughanacmy, County Kerry. In his preface the scribe craves indulgence for any faults in his work on the grounds that this is his first book, and that he had been pressed into the service of Queen Anne.
