MS.12998 contains large groups of letters from individual correspondents; the remainder are in a single chronological series, which includes the remainder of Hugh Elliot's unbound correspondence, except for formal letters to and from the Foreign Office, and the official correspondence relating to the secret French mission and to all appointments subsequent to the mission to Dresden.
