Scope and Contents

This extensive run of correspondence consists mainly of letters to Arthur Ralph Douglas Elliot, with some drafts of his replies. Many of the letters and envelopes bear endorsements of Elliot and his son, Hubert. The letters cover almost the entirety of Elliot's career and although all of his activities are represented most of the correspondence is political, the election and Free Trade letters being especially rich.
