Journal of a tour in Scotland of a dissenting English preacher.
Scope and Contents
The writer travelled from the vicinity of Hertford to Scotland to preach in order to raise funds for the Hibernian Society. While in Scotland he met with Seccession ministers and other Dissenters, preaching on numerous occasions to large congregations. Places visited include Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dumbarton, Paisley, Port Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen. Although preaching was the main purpose of the tour, this was the writer`s first visit to Scotland and he comments as a tourist on his experiences including a trip on a steamer on Loch Lomond.
