The arrangement largely follows that in which the material arrived and a volunteer worked on the listing of the collection in 2007, hence the high level of detail in some of the descriptions.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Presented, 2007, by Tom Gourdie's heirs, through the good offices of Gibson and Spears, Dow and Son, Kirkcaldy.
Separated Materials
With the papers came Tom Gourdie's extensive and international collection of books and pamphlets on the subject of handwriting. These have been transferred to General Collections to form a Special Collection (shelfmark Gourdie.).
