The contents are as follows:
(i) Scots College: correspondence and official papers, 1791-1824, chiefly drafts of letters from Alexander Innes to French government officials (folios 6-115); leases and papers, 1787-1802, concerning college property (folios 117-146); accounts, 1770-1802 (folios 147-225);
(ii) Irish College: miscellaneous papers in chronological order, 1787-1806 (folios 226-257);
(iii) English College: miscellaneous papers in chronological order, 1798-1808 (folios 258-277).

Custodial History
The manuscripts were bought by the National Library of Scotland with the aid of the Reid Fund.
There is some evidence of provenance, including the Phillipps mark, 'MS. 17850' (folio 4), indicating that the manuscript was formerly in the library of Sir Thomas Phillipps, and a bill, 1896, to Lord Crawford (folio 5).
