Letter, 30 October 1766, of Hume to Walpole relating that D'Alembert and others in Paris have resolved to publish an account of his rupture with Rousseau.
Letter, 4 November 1766, of Hume to Walpole on the publication of the account and Hume's objection to D'Alembert's description of the King of Prussia letter as cruel.
Letter, 20 November 1766, of Hume to Walpole on Hume's reluctance, but acceptance, that a publication was necessary in response to Rousseau.
