Diaries, 1937-1947, of Edward R Zenthon, surveyor (1920-2012), of camping, hiking and climbing expeditions in Scotland, England, Wales, South Africa, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Italy.
The diaries are illustrated with numerous skilful drawings and sketch maps together with photographs, postcards, maps and cartoons. In addition to diary entries, there are several lists including mountains climbed, personal climbing equipment, books owned and a glossary of mountaineering terms.
Ted Zenthon was a member of the Scottish Mountaineering Club and many of the expeditions were with the Junior Mountaineering Club of Scotland.
