‘A Defence or Vindication of the Scottish History and of the Scottish Historians wherein the ancient race of the Scottish Kings ther ancient possession in this island of Great Britain and the antiquity and dignity of the Scottish Church are asserted and the objections of the Bishop of St Asaph are answered’, an apparently unpublished treatise, ?1685, by Sir Robert Sibbald (Adv.MS.15.1.3);
