Scope and Contents
At the end of the manuscript are numerous prescriptions by a physician in high practice in Scotland in the beginning of the 17th century. One commences ‘Dedi Alexandro comiti Eglintonis uxoris meae confebr[...]ino… 30 Octob.1625’.
On a fly leaf is written ‘I wagered with the young laird of Darfie that his wyff was with a sone (deprehenso pulsu brachii dextri maiore) a paire of stage ledder gloves the last of Januar 1634’.
The description of the manuscript in the folio catalogue (F.R.195) includes the reference: (W.1.24).
