Scope and Contents
The manuscript contains the following poems.

(ii) On the Execution of Charles I. Printed: Delft, 1649. (Folio 2.)
(iii) 'Good Wishes to His Highnes the Prince upon His Birth Day, 14 November'. (Folio 3.)
(iv) 'The wnconstant Lover', 1624. (Folio 3 verso.)
(v) 'For the Heroycall L: Colonel Lauder ... A Christmas Carol'. Signed: F G. (Folio 4.)
(vi) 'The Souldiers Wishe'. Printed: Edinburgh, J Wreittoun, 1628. Apparently no printed copy is now known. (Folio 5.)
(vii) 'The Scottish Souldier', containing 'Wight' and other poems. Printed: Edinburgh, J Wreittoun, 1629. Reprinted by Sir Alexander Boswell as one of the ‘Frondes Caducae’ (Auchinleck Press, 1816-1818). (Folio 9.)
(viii) Three anonymous poems, in a different hand: 'Fair Celia too fondlie contemns ye delights', 'A druncard I am & a druncard I'll be', and 'Seek not to know yt woman for she's worse'. (Folio 20 verso.)
(ix) 'Tears on the Death of Evander'. Printed: the Hague, 1630. The Britwell-Huntington copy is apparently unique. Reprinted by the Bannatyne Club as Bannatyne Garland, number 10, [Edinburgh, 1848]. (Folio 21.)
(x) Two anonymous poems, in the same hand as (viii): 'A woman is a book and often found', and 'Apelles prince of painters did. All others in that art exceed'. (Folio 24 verso.)

(xii) 'Aretophel, or, A funeral elegy on the death of . . . Walter, Earle of Buccleuche'. Printed: Middelburg, John van der Hellen, undated. Apparently no printed copy is now known. (Folio 31.)
