The manuscript was presented to the Advocates` Library in 1906 by John Shirley, Solicitor. It was transferred from the Department of Printed Books in 1963.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
Bibliography
Part of this work had been previously published as an article entitled ‘Union and its Antecedents, Historical and Legal’ in ‘Scots Magazine’, volume XXI, January 1898, pages 134-144. These pages were cut out from a copy of the magazine and included (with alterations) at the relevant places within the leaves of this work-book.
