The manuscript was bought by the Advocates’ Library in April 1723 at the sale of Sir Robert Sibbald’s library.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
Bibliography
The work was published in ‘Macfarlane`s Geographical Collections’ (Edinburgh, 1908), volume iii. At the end of the volume Sibbald gives `Ane Account of the manuscripts, informations, and printed books sent for compyling the Description of Scotland` (folio 349) which is excluded from the Printed collection.
