The manuscript was bought by the Advocates’ Library in 1723, at the sale of Sir Robert Sibbald`s library.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
Bibliography
An edition of the manuscript was published by Thomas Maitland (Edinburgh, 1823), in which the author`s `Advertisement` of 1692 (folio 40 verso) appears as a foreword. A sketch of a half-net (folio 16) is omitted from the printed version.
