Scope and Contents

Craig wrote this work in 1603 to show that Scotland had never done homage to England, in reply to strenuous claims to the contrary in the 1587 edition of Holinshead`s ‘Chronicles’ (`in manibus hominum his sexdecim annis` - folio i verso).

Like many of Craig`s works this was not published in his lifetime; but an English translation, from another copy (pages xxxvii-xxxviii), was produced at London under the title ‘Scotland`s Soveraignty asserted ...’ by George Ridpath in 1695.
