Photographs, ?1920, of the manuscript described by John Sobieski Stuart in his edition of the `Vestiarum Scoticum` (Edinburgh, 1842), and further discussed by him in his ‘Reply to the "Quarterly Review" [June, 1847] upon the "Vestiarium Scoticum"’, where it is described as the `Cromarty Manuscript`.

Custodial History
The original was lodged at 25 Heriot Row with Mr Stodart Macdonald. It passed afterwards into the possession of William Skeoch Cumming, and later to the Marquess of Bute. The photographs were presented to the Advocates` Library in 1920 by William Skeoch Cumming, the then owner of the original.

Presented, 1925, by the Faculty of Advocates to the nation on the foundation of the National Library of Scotland.
