Manuscript of 'De consolatione Philosphiae' by Boethuis.
Scope and Contents
The beginning and end of the manuscript are missing: it begins in book i, prosa 4, breaking off in book iv, prosa 3 (see the edition by George D Smith (London, 1925), pages 15-111). One folio containing the beginning of book iii, metrum 9 is also missing.
Folios 24-31 have been bound upside down. Folio 39 is written in a different hand. There are corrections and marginalia in an early-thirteenth-century hand, but most of the latter have been trimmed away.
Initials are in red and blue with decorative penwork, and there is a sketch of a crowned figure in the margin of folio 11.
