The letters have been arranged alphabetically by correspondent surname, with those relating to the 'Hoppner scandal' at the end of the sequence. A further letter of Hoppner to Lord Byron has been added at the end of the sequence. When first made available for consultation, this letter had been housed in Ms.43526, but was moved to the current location during cataloguing.
