Letters of Lady Caroline Lamb to John Murray II., 1813-1826, undated.
Scope and Contents
After the affair between Lady Caroline Lamb and Lord Byron ended, Lamb wrote on numerous occasions to John Murray [II], sometimes asking him to be a go-between with the poet, other times using him as her confidante. The letters are often personal in nature and often relate to Lord Byron. Lamb also writes about her novel 'Glenarvon' (the first critique of the Byronic hero by a female writer), other members of their acquaintance and literature. In addition, there is a sketch of Lord and Lady Byron by Caroline Lamb.
