Research and working notes of Ian Rankin for ‘In a House of Lies’. Folios 1-78.
Most of the notes are undated. The distinction between the notes and drafts is often unclear. Some notes have been revisited and subsequently annotated by Rankin as his development of the novel progressed. As far as possible, evidence of changes in theme and plot have been used to inform the arrangement.
Includes notes on COPD taken by Rankin from a conversation with Ian Martin.
Editorial notes of Rankin and others towards ‘In a House of Lies’. Folios 79-137.
Many of the notes are undated. The notes include references to specific drafts, including first, second, third, fourth, and final drafts. As far as possible, evidence of changes in theme and plot have been used to inform the arrangement.
