Contains correspondence and papers relating to the following: (i) Whitsome Hill, Berwickshire, the property of Hugh Murray Kynynmound, advocate, 1731-1741 (folio 1);

(ii) Invertiel, Fife, the property of Hugh Somervell of Invertiel, Writer to the Signet, father of Isabella Murray of Melgund, 1737-1743 (folio 50);

(iii) Bilton near Wetherby in Yorkshire, relating to newly enclosed land at Bilton owned by John Iveson, but over which Anna Mary Amyand, later Countess of Minto, had granted a mortgage, 1776-1777, 1779, 1782 (folio 121)'

(iv) Melgund Place, a tenement in the Castlegate of Jedburgh, in which the Elliot family had acquired a share for electoral purposes, and subsequently owned outright, 1873, 1876-1882 (folio 139);

(v) Abstract of accounts for Home Farm, Ardington, Berkshire, 1885-1886 (folio 196).
