Scope and Contents
The contents are as follows. (i) Fair copy, with minor corrections in his own hand, of a 'public letter', 14 May 1795, of Edmund Burke to William Elliot of Wells, published posthumously by the first editors of Burke's 'Works' in ‘Two letters on the conduct of our domestick parties (folio 1); (ii) Correspondence of William Elliot of Wells with the Earl Fitzwilliam on various constituency and political matters, 1801, 1816-1818 (folio 15); (iii) Letters of Walter King, Bishop of Rochester, to William Elliot of Wells, 1810-1813, concerning various political issues and the publication of Burke's ‘Works’ (folio 53).
