Loose sheets of music with accompanying material., 19th century-1943.
Scope and Contents
Much of the music consists of traditional Scottish tunes. In addition there are some French pieces (folios 84) and various tunes apparently copied from teaching books.
The loose sheets of music (folio 1) are preceded by a letter, 1943, to a former owner of MSS.22137-22141: Music books of fiddle music written by William McKinley (folio i), and followed by an unidentified nineteenth-century photograph (folio 90), a press-cutting, ?1932 (folio 91), and strips of paper containing music formerly loosely enclosed in MSS.22137-22140 (folios 94, 98, 99, 113).
