Private letter-books of the First Lord, chiefly letters written on his behalf by his Private Secretaries, but including copies of many of his own letters., 1835-1841.
Scope and Contents
The Private Secretaries were (successively Henry Tufnell, 1835-1839; William, Lord Melgund (acting), 1839-1841; and William Dougal Christie, April-September 1841). Most of the letters are concerned with promotion and other patronage matters.
