Scope and Contents

Robert Garioch Sutherland's correspondence almost entirely concerns his own literary work and that of his correspondents. It discusses contributions to anthologies and journals, particularly in connection with his editorial work for ‘Scottish International Review’, 1968-1974, and the ‘New Edinburgh Review’, 1971-1973, and for the anthology ‘Made in Scotland’ (Cheadle, 1974). Other topics include poetry readings, his work as Writer in Residence at Edinburgh University, 1971-1973, and his publications ‘Two men and a blanket’ (Edinburgh, 1975), and translations of Buchanan and Belli into Scots.
